VH1’s Behind the Music returns on Sept. 10. So what artist did they choose for the first episode? None other than Lil Wayne. Weezy has the music industry on lock with his recording-breaking album sales from 2008 and the current hype from Young Money Entertainment all-star Drake. Sept. 6: The promotion company GTEG presents Fashion to the Future. This fashion show takes place at Eclipse Nightclub in downtown Harrisburg. DJ Odini will be on the 1s and 2s, and DJ Kristyles will host the event. Local R&B songstress Alonda Rich will perform. Doors open at 9:30 p.m.
Sept. 7: Yo Gotti and Nicki Minaj rocks the mic at The Forum in Harrisburg. Tennessee-based rapper Gotti recently dropped the single “5 Star” that ranked No. 1 recently on BET’s 106 and Park. The voluptuous rapper Minaj reps for Young Money Entertainment and hails from New York City. Doors for the Gotti/Minaj show open at 5 p.m., and Showtime is 6:30 p.m.
Sept. 11: Keep It Movin’ Garments holds a fashion show in Sept. Images Part II fashion show will be held at the Four Points Sheraton in Harrisburg. Keep It Movin’ proprietor Charles “Pook” Miller will showcase his end of the summer/fall collection. Attendants can purchase the items after the show. An after party will follow the fashion show. The red carpet event begins at 8 p.m., and showtime is 9 p.m.
Kelly Clarkson performs at the York Fair in York. Clarkson won the first season of American Idol in 2002. And she is one of the most successful artists from Simon Fuller’s brainchild.
Harrisburg-based Sykkline Entertainment Inc. opens up for Eminem protégés D12 (from Detroit) and Potluck (from California). The groups will perform at the West Shore Hardware Bar in Mechanicsburg. Doors open at 8 p.m.
Sept. 12: Bill Cosby, legendary comedian/activist for education, appears at the American Music Theatre in Lancaster. Cos, who visited Harrisburg last Wednesday to support Gov. Rendell’s spending plan on education, will give two shows: one at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m.
New Jersey-based singer Eric Roberson headlines the 3rd Annual Jazz Festival at Fort Hunter. The national recording artist has a velvety singing voice, and he meshes it with superb songwriting and an organic neo-soul sound. Not surprisingly, Roberson has done collabos with Philly artists Jill Scott and Musiq. Showtime: TBD.
T-Rex holds his Birthday Bash at York’s Evolution Nightclub. Celebrity DJ Webstar will host the party for the underground rapper. Showtime: TBD.
Sept. 13: Jamie Foxx takes his Blame It tour on the road and performs at the Tower Theatre in Upper Darby. Showtime: 7 p.m.
Sept. 25: Yung L.A. performs at the Farm Show Complex, Harrisburg. The ATL rapper dropped his debut single “Ain’t I” that was well received. Young Dro discovered the newcomer, who signed to Grand Hustle Records. Doors open at 9 p.m.

Sept. 8: Jay-Z drops Blueprint 3, an album released by events promoter Live Nation. Jigga moved the released date from Sept. 11 to Sept. 8. He released the classic Blueprint (which earned the coveted five-mic rating from The Source magazine) on Sept. 11, 2001.

Cable channel Fuse airs Jay-Z’s concert held at Madison Square Garden, 9 p.m.
