It’s April 23. Night falls on the Franklin & Marshall College town. Meanwhile, local rapper Joshua “Maxxx Flair” Harris, his crew and I dart to the Other Room, the place where Maxxx Flair will be performing. I thought the Other Room was a small nightclub. It’s not. The building, a stone’s throw away from the Lancaster-based college, contains a multipurpose room. That night, the Other Room morphed into an underground, hip-hop venue. That’s the new release date for Drake’s highly anticipated Thank Me Later album, Drake said at his April 9 concert at Bryce Jordan Center in State College. His collaborator, Jay-Z, performed at BJC on Oct. 9, 2009. Initially, Thank Me Later was slated for release on February 14 but was pushed back to May 25. Continue reading ‘Leader of the new school’
Tickets for Rihanna’s local concerts go on sale today at 10 a.m. Ri Ri will perform at Susquehanna Bank Center (NJ) on Aug. 18 and Hersheypark Stadium (Hershey) on Aug. 21. Rihanna has put the Chris Brown debacle in the past and is currently dating LA Dodger’s outfielder Matt Kemp. Pop singer/songwriter Ke$ha will open up for Rihanna. Concert promoter Live Nation also booked femcee Nicki Minaj for the tour, but Minaj pulled out recently, according to her Twitter account. Click here to buy the tickets.
