I’ll admit it—I was late realizing Bun B’s lyrical skills. I first heard Bun spit with his Southern drawl on 2000’s “Big Pimpin’” by Jay-Z featuring UGK. UGK consisted of Bun and his late partner Pimp C. Little did I know that Bun’s career dates back to 1987.

Fast forward to 2010: The Source magazine just bestowed Bun’s new album, Trill OG, with the coveted five-mic rating. Peep this ode to Bun by J. Cole.
