It’s almost here.
The Legends of the Summer tour — one of the biggest urban music concerts held in years in Central Pennsylvania — will feature megastars Jay Z and Justin Timberlake. The monumental show will take place at Hersheypark Stadium in Hershey on Aug. 4. Showtime is 8 p.m.
Tickets, which went on sale back on Feb 28, range from $44.60 to $255.10. Visit ticketmaster.com for tickets.
To kick off the weekend of hip-hop, Dauphin County will hold the Cultural Fest today. Hip-hop vet Doug E. Fresh will headline the festival, which runs from 4:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the corner of Second and Market streets in Harrisburg. The Cultural Fest is a free event. After the rapper/beatboxer performs, he will give another show this evening with collaborator Slick Rick. In 1985, the duo released two hip-hop gems: “The Show” and “La Di Da Di.”
The African American Chamber of Commerce of Central Pa. will host the Slick/Doug E. concert. Doors open at 9 p.m. at the Pennsylvania State Museum’s Memorial Hall in Harrisburg. Tickets are $25 in advance for general admission and $40 for VIP. Visit www.chamberforus.org or local independent music stores for tickets.
To support these concerts, our website, along with Music Man and Denm Inc., will be giving away one Jay Z CD (Magna … Holy Grail) and two Justin Timberlake CDs (20/20 Experience). In addition, we’ll be giving away two of J. Bair’s Dare to Be Different CDs. Local rapper/hip-hop purist J. Bair will open for Slick/Doug E. To enter our giveaway, leave a comment about the CD of your choice on this post or our Facebook page.
