“We want to give them a place a gather,” Jordan Stasyszyn said about local sneaker collectors. “There are big-time collectors in this area.”
To fill the void, Stasyszyn and his childhood friend Corey Gelbaugh will be holding their first sneaker event. Stasyszyn and Gelbaugh’s company, Maverick Management, will bring the Harrisburg Sneaker Expo to the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex & Expo Center in Harrisburg on Dec. 1.
Stasyszyn and Gelbaugh, both 24 years old, hail from Carlisle. As a grad student, Stasyszyn studies professional and business communication at La Salle University in Philadelphia. Gelbaugh received his master’s degree in applied statistics from Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio.
What’s Stasyszyn’s favorite pair of kicks? “The LeBron X and ParaNorman Foamposites are the rarest sneakers I’ve had,” Stasyszyn explained. “Corey and [my] favorite pair is the Jordan 11 Concord.” Stasyszyn and Gelbaugh boast about 70 sneakers each in their collection.
