In honor of the Harrisburg Sneaker Expo, local people, including yours truly, share their favorite rap songs about kicks. The sneaker and hip-hop cultures are inextricably linked. Some of the songs that didn’t make the cut include “Vans” by The Pack,” “Air Force Ones” by Nelly and “Sneakers” by Raekwon.

Me: The first version of “Facts” by Kanye West and “My Adidas” by Run-DMC
Christian Laing, my son: “Nikes on My Feet” by Mac Miller
Jordan Stasyszyn, founder of Harrisburg Sneaker Expo: “Nike Boots” by Wale
Spencer Blake, owner of 717 Soles: The first version of “Facts” by Kanye West
Michael Starling, owner of Raw Sports and 2 Raw for the Streets: “My Adidas” by Run-DMC
Darian Cargile, co-founder/COO of Random Casualties: “Air Force Ones” by Young Jeezy and “Classic (Better Than I’ve Ever Been DJ Premier Remix)” by Kanye West, Nas, KRS-One and Rakim
