Despite the no-show from Havoc of Mobb Deep, the PMD concert went off without a hitch. PMD represents one half of the hip-hop supergroup EPMD. Club XL, Harrisburg, held the show on Oct. 19.
PMD walked on the stage clad with his “Strictly Business” Ewing kicks and signature bucket hat.
Live performances, an extension of the song, can provide a positive experience. “Please Listen to My Demo” is no exception. When the DJ threw on the song, I was taken down memory lane while the bass shook the stage. “Headbanger” and “You Gots to Chill” were some of the other gems from PMD’s set. He brought rappers John Jiggs and RJ Da Realest with him. Both acts gave notable sets.
PMD gave a shout-out to Chris Franklin of the Harlem Globetrotters and actor Michael K. Williams (mostly known for his role as Omar) for being in the house. Mind State, Vito Depierro, Tim Cox and DJ Smitty opened up for PMD.
Club XL, which opened in April, offers a stage, dance floor, digital sound/lighting, full bar, outdoor bar and VIP area.
