On Sept. 24, activists and lawmakers assembled at Pennsylvanians for Probation Reform Advocacy Day. The event took place at the Pennsylvania State Capitol in Harrisburg. Participants supported House Bill 1555 and Senate Bill 14 and shared personal stories about the criminal justice system.
Some of the organizations at Advocacy Day included Reform Alliance and FAMM. Van Jones, CNN commentator and one of the founding partners of Reform, attended Advocacy Day, too.
In related news, Raymond Santana of the Exonerated 5 lectured at Penn State Harrisburg on the same day as Advocacy Day.
