Some songwriters-turned-singers have the knack to make songs where the lyrics and production are equally pleasing. Frank Ocean is no exception. Ocean is part of the alternative collective Odd Future—hip-hop’s next big thing. (Lead lyricist Tyler the Creator dropped his Goblin album last week.)
With his free-spirited persona, Ocean may seem to stand out in a group of boisterous shock-rappers. But they all have one thing in common: they create good music. Check out Ocean’s video for “Songs for Women,” a joint appearing on his classic Nostalgia, Ultra mixtape.
