To the Generation-Z demographic and some others, the No Jumper podcast is a household name. But local hip-hop fans may not know that a Harrisburg-area resident helped to launch the No Jumper brand.
In 2011, George “Yayo” Potter started the No Jumper hip-hop blog. Then he joined forces with Adam Grandmaison aka Adam22. Later down the road, a business dispute turned their relationship sour.
Last month, Grandmaison made national news when someone pulled a gun on him in his studio. Some people feel Adam22 staged the incident. Two years ago, Potter’s hometown planned to hold a hip-hop festival with Grandmaison as the host. The event, with headliners G Herbo, Famous Dex and Uno the Activist, never took place.
Check out the Jan. 19 episode of the Rob the Plug podcast to hear Potter’s side of the No Jumper story. (Potter and Cheech host Rob the Plug in Harrisburg, and I’m the guest host.) Then read Fader’s article to get more info about Yayo’s affiliation with No Jumper — the magazine speaks with Grandmaison, too.
