In 2006, VigorOnline wrote a story about urban clothing line Many Milez Traveled (MMT). Leland Nelson of Harrisburg founded MMT and sold his first line of T-shirts at his alma mater, Delaware State University. Like Nelson, Charles “Pook” Miller has become a staple in the Harrisburg area by launching an urban clothing line in college (East Stroudsburg University).
On Sept. 11, Miller, who resides on the West Shore, held his second fashion show of the year called Images. His Keep It Movin’ Garments (KIM) line offers hip yet conservative clothing for men, women and children. The logo illustrates a silhouette (think Nike’s Jordan logo) of a person moving forward.
Miller’s dimly lit and classy fashion show on Sept. 11 took place at the Four Points by Sheraton in Harrisburg. He held a previous show at the Four Points on May 31. The Sept. 11 show incorporated some of today’s hottest music that reflects Miller’s drive. These songs included “So Ambitious” (Jay-Z ft. Pharrell) and “Successful” (Drake/Trey Songz). Harrisburg-based singer Tim Cox also provided entertainment during the show. Cox sported a white KIM shirt while singing his ballads “Many Days” and “First Lady.” The crooner wanted to stress the lyrics of “First Lady,” so he sang the end of the song acappella.
Miller also has ties to national recording artists: Jadakiss and Slim Thug have co-signed KIM. Miller told VigorOnline that he began working with Jada in early 2009. So months after working after working with Jada, Miller attended Jada’s meet and greet event at the Villa (formerly Sneaker Villa) in Philadelphia. “I got a lot of love in Philly,” Miller says.
