On July 31, Rev. Martin Otto Zimmann stood at the crosswalk at Lincoln Square in Gettysburg, and he held up a peace sign. Zimmann confronted a counter protester who sat in his truck that carried a controversial confederate flag. S.O.P. (Save Our People) held a Black Lives Matter protest that day.

With the current civil unrest, I covered protests in Harrisburg on May 30 and June 17. Both events started at the Capitol and ended with a march. When the crowd became more agitated by the Riverfront on May 30, police shot tear gas. Protesters then gathered in another area by the Rivefront until the evening. Continue reading ‘Fight the power’

On Dec. 27, the Sankofa African American Theatre Company, Sankofa 21 Institute — and an Emmy-nominator actor hosted the first Sankofa Film Festival.
